Intimate Restaurant Wedding in Chicago’s North Shore

On a gorgeous Friday in May, E&Q got married surrounded by their nearest and dearest in Chicago’s North Shore.

Not even crazy high winds and an extremely rare and unexpected dust storm (?? literally what in the Midwest was that) could stop the good vibes and celebration. It was a day filled with love, laughter, cheers, pure big smiles, steel drum music, and fist pumps.

The two shared a private first look at a park near the church, and the spring flowers were in full bloom for their portraits after. The purple flowers??? Petitioning every municipality in the greater Chicago area to plant more of these spring beauties. The wind helped us in achieving some epic portraits with the veil as a major supporting character.

Pomeroy, a French bistro in Winnetka, was the perfect place to host an intimate cocktail hour and reception. They had a steel drum player bringing the vibes during cocktail hour, and a band throughout the reception. The candlelit ambience in the private back patio was cozy, romantic and set a comfortable, friendly atmosphere for a night of heartfelt and hilarious toasts to the newlyweds.

E&Q have been together for a long, long time, so their wedding day was an exclamation point of a celebration of a life, love and sense of home they’ve shared with each other for years already. I loved watching them exchange adoring glances and soft, supportive touches throughout the day. Catching them share sweet & brief giddy moments throughout the evening was so fun — the kind of moments that make a wedding day so special, when the couple has those “holy sh*t we did it and look at all these people we love in one place celebrating us” moments.
